October Classes
Summer Solstice with A Twist
Date: October 3rd, 17th, & 24th | Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm | Instructor: Josephine Keasler
The Summer Solstice was designed by Bradley and Judy Niemeyer. The instructions teach a strip piecing technique that expands on a traditional foundation paper piecing approach to complete lone star units. Strips are sewn onto foundation paper to complete what is called a “Strip Set”. After the strip sets are completed, they are cut apart, rearranged, and resewn into a diamond star point. The Summer Solstice star was designed using 3.5″ strips for the strip piecing. It incorporates a paper pieced New York Beauty (NYB) block and a general assembly process designed with no Y-Seams. Let Josephine guide you through the construction of this gorgeous quilt. Optional finishing day on November 7th, 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Renaissance Ribbons Bag

There are so many fun ribbons available now, why not use them to make a fun, one-of-a-kind bag! Kellie will guide you in using the ribbons in creating your own striped motif, and will make putting in that dreaded zipper less dreadful! She will make it easy and fun!

Project Bag 2.0

Join Vickie in creating this fun and useful By Annie Project Bag 2.0. This class will be for the Jumbo size bag in the pattern. This is a great class for the advanced beginner who has prior sewing experience and wants to dive into the world of bag-making!

Night Blooms

Learn to use the Creative Grids Pineapple Block Trimmer ruler to create a variety of different pineapple blocks. This ruler will help to make the perfect pineapple blocks every time! This quilt is a stunner and you’ll walk away with a new technique in your quilty brain!

Follow the Star

This caravan of camels is following the star to a Christmas miracle. Join Shelly as you piece this beautiful scene. This quilt is sure to be a Christmas treasure for generations to come. Kits are available using Riley Blake’s Silent Night fabrics, or use your own fabrics for a one of a kind heirloom.

show you the world, I can open your eyes, to a new point
of view, come along with me for this “magic carpet ride”. Literally we are not taking a magic carpet ride, but learning a concept that will intrigue and delight you. Quick rotary cutting will make this quilt a breeze. This pattern is found in Kaffe Fassett’s Glorious Colour book.

Improv Mini Quilt
Date: October 28th | Time: 1:00pm to 5:00pm | Instructor: Ashelyn Downs
Join us as we push our square block comfort zones and venture into varied seam sizing! Use a fabric pull of your favorite prints and wovens to learn how to build your favorite classic quilt blocks into newly imagined shapes and proportions. If you can sew a log cabin or 4-patch, you can do improv quilting! The best part? There’s no rules, but Ashelyn will offer plenty of support in decision making for any “improv-adverse” quilty friends!

Simple Braid
Date: October 30th | Time: 2:30pm to 5:30pm | Instructor: Kaye Evans
Learn how to add this braided border to any panel, favorite fabric or pieced quilt of any size, season or style. This Simple Braid works up quickly and before you know it, you will have beautiful borders to add a finishing touch to your project. Kaye will bring several examples of how she has used this Simple Braid in her own quilts.

Lone Star Tree Skirt

My Best Friends are Flakes

What a wonderful flakey group of friends! Create this fun winter project with the designer herself! Pamela will help you build these snow friends while you become great friends! Flakey friends! This will make a great statement on your winter table, a welcoming wall hanging or transform it into a lovely bench pillow.

Speedy Broken Star

This class will teach you the speed method for creating the beautiful, traditional pattern featuring the Lonestar quilt. Use your favorite fabrics with a fun background, or more traditional fabrics. This makes a wonderful gift as it looks super complicated, but goes together relatively easily. We will get a lot of it done over the 2-part class with a little homework in between.

Class Policies
Payment
Full payment of the class is required at the time of sign up to reserve your spot in the class. Each class is first come first serve basis.
Cancellation
Unless you have an emergency, 48 hour notice is required for cancellation to receive either a refund or credit for another class.
Class Minimums
Classes with less than 3 paid students (4 for series classes) are subject to cancellation or rescheduling at the discretion of the instructor.
Refunds
If class is canceled by either the shop or the instructor, a full refund or credit will be issued.
Class Setup Time
Please arrive 10 minutes before the class to set up your machine, so that we can begin on time.
Distractions
Please mute or turn off your phones before class begins to alleviate any distractions that they may cause.
